They are designed to be placed on permanent foundations and are treated as permanent, fixed structures, not temporary solutions. These factors are essential for mortgage consideration. While some lenders are open to providing mortgages for correctly specified and sited modular homes – assessing each application on a case-by-case basis – it’s true that securing finance for modular constructions can sometimes present more hurdles than for traditionally built houses.
